The first day of the new school year began with Algebra II my tenth grade year. The teacher wanted to assign us seats for us on where to sit. I was a little advanced with mathematics, so I was taking classes one year ahead of time. This young woman, whom I actually met for a few moments a couple months beforehand, was assigned to sit in the back row. For whatever reason, I wasn't on the roster, so I was last to be seated. The seats were full, so the teacher assigned me to the back row, next to the young woman.

Years later I discovered that I have the ability to instantly access anyone's past lives if I enter a trance state. I deeply know that I can do this only because I was given that book. In was literally receiving access to the Akashic Records. I awoke feeling profoundly changed. That feeling has stayed with me forever. I suppose I could have been given that book without my Soul ever letting me in on it, but then would I ever have taken a dream interpretation class? Would I have ever tried to do past life readings? Would all those people who have been healed by the past life readings ever have been healed?

This is a woman who would triple-lock her bedroom door living in a convent (probably to ward off any lesbian nuns). When I became a lawyer, she suggested I change my last name and pretend to be gentile, because «law firms might not like the Jews.» I informed her that in fact many of the most prominent law firms had Jewish names, but my mother wrote that off to an «attempt to be politically correct.» According to her, those Jews were probably just figureheads. I walked into the event a lot late. In the 1960's it would be called «a happening.» The name of the event was «Children, Our Ultimate Investment.» It was a celebration of Aldous Huxley's birth. Ram Dass was on stage with (Alan Watt's cohort) Al Huang (of the Living Tao foundation). As Dass did his thing about Shiva and existence and bliss Al Huang danced spontaneously and these professional big kids were having a really good time as they carried Laura Huxley around the packed room and danced with her in their arms.

Still other workshops may have breathing or breath work or sacral cranial work or acupressure, shiatsu or, well the list is infinite. They even show movies. And there are places where one can borrow consciousness raising sound and video tapes. There is a bookshop in the main office filled with tapes and books and things one might need. Some come for room and board but most are here for workshops and seminars.

I have learned that our struggles do not always originate from this current lifetime we are living. I have had more than one psychic tell me that my last lifetime was as a struggling model and Impressionist painter in Paris, France. What I found most interesting upon hearing this is that several things relevant to me in this lifetime to validate the psychics' reading. I never understood the meaning of this strange behavior until the psychics solved the mystery for me. The psychics knew nothing about me and I gave them no information of any kind.

To draw and paint, to write and dream, to create music were not the skills valued in my home as I was growing up. Those skills and talents were not considered useful for a financially secure future. I suspect it can be said by most creatives, that their parents had 'higher hopes' for them than the insecurity of an artists life.
